CIRRUS HD-OCT
Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) is a non-invasive imaging test. OCT uses light waves to take cross-section pictures of your retina. With OCT, your ophthalmologist can see each of the retina’s distinctive layers. This allows your ophthalmologist to map and measure their thickness. These measurements help with diagnosis. They also provide treatment guidance for glaucoma and retinal diseases. These retinal diseases include age-related macular degeneration (AMD) and diabetic eye disease.
Humphrey Field Analyzer 3
A visual field test is a method of measuring an individual’s entire scope of vision which include the central and peripheral (side) vision. Visual field test maps the visual fields of each eye individually and can detect blind spots (scotomas) as well as more subtle areas of dim vision.
This test is usually used to assess glaucoma and other causes of optic nerve problem.
Glaucoma is often called “The Sneak Thief of Sight” because it is usually a painless process that mostly affects the peripheral, or side vision, first. Patient will only notice visual field changes until the damage is severe.
By doing this test, ophthalmologist can monitor your disease severity, progression, and tailor treatment accordingly.
VISUCAM Fundus Imaging
VISUCAM Fundus Camera is used to take an image of the fundus – the back portion of the eye that includes the retina, macula, fovea, optic disc and retinal vasculature. This fundus camera comes with a 24-megapixel sensor and revolutionary ZEISS optics, produce brilliant, ultra-high resolution, detail-rich images to effectively aid in diagnosing and monitoring a broad range of diseases.
The image is very useful to document the natural state of the back of the eye in order to give the ophthalmologist a future reference to compare with during follow-up visits. It is important to document the findings of most retinal diseases and conditions, especially diabetic eye diseases, macular degeneration, retinal vascular occlusion and glaucoma.
It is painless and most of the patients do not require pupil dilatation.
VISUPLAN 500 Non-Contact Tonometer
VISUPLAN 500 Non-Contact Tonometer makes examination of intraocular pressure (IOP) easier. Contrary to the Goldmann Tonometry method, it does not require contact with the cornea or an anaesthetic. Instead, the IOP is measured with a soft puff of air. The measurement of intraocular pressure (IOP) is part of routine eye check-up, especially in glaucoma screening and follow up.
IOL Master 700
IOL MASTER 700 is a non-contact instrument designed to provide key information necessary for intraocular lens (IOL) power calculations. This latest laser technology measures the length of the eye accurately as it is extremely important in cataract surgery. It is more accurate than any other method that has been used in the past, including the ultrasound test currently available.
It helps the ophthalmologist to select the right lens to implant for each patient. It provides the best vision care and an extra piece of information with the greatest accuracy possible in choosing the lens for cataract surgery. In many cases, the increase in accuracy provided can reduce the need for glasses after surgery.
VISULAS YAG III COMBI
The VISULAS YAG III Combi is a multi-purpose laser for retinal photocoagulation, secondary cataract treatment and laser glaucoma therapies. It consists of VISULAS 532s argon laser and VISULAS YAG 111 laser.
The VISULAS 532s argon laser is intended for use in photocoagulation, diabetic eye disease, retinal vascular disease and retinal tear or hole.
Whereas VISULAS YAG III is used for applications like posterior capsulotomy in posterior capsular opacification after cataract surgery and peripheral iridotomy in patients with narrow angle or angle closure glaucoma.
