Credentialed as a Paediatrician in 2002, after graduating with a Master of Medicine (Paediatrics) degree from UKM. In 2008, she was awarded a Fellowship by Ministry of Health Malaysia to pursue Sub-Specialty in Neonatology.
She is also trained and certified as a Neonatal Resuscitation Programme Lead Instructor in New South Wales, Australia and Malaysia.
Prior to taking up her current position at AVISENA, she was the Head of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), that she helped set-up. She was also the Chairperson of the Infection Control Unit, Hospital Putrajaya (HPJ) and Jabatan Kesihatan Wilayah Persekutuan & Putrajaya (JKWP) for more than a decade.
She is a strong advocate of breastfeeding, hand hygiene, touch-therapy practices which are essential elements in Neonatal Care.
Dr Vidya is an invited speaker at many Neonatal Care Awareness programs in the country and abroad. She is also involved in several long-term torpedo research projects with counterparts in Australia and Malaysia, aimed at improving the health care of Neonates.
She is currently serving her second term as the Treasurer of the Perinatal Society of Malaysia.
