Avisena Healthcare today distributed influenza vaccines to approximately 560 members of the Sultan Alam Shah Putrajaya (SAS) School here through the Influenza Vaccination Outreach Program as an effort to raise awareness on the importance of vaccinations and indirectly prevent the spread of influenza virus infections in schools.

Avisena Healthcare offered the influenza vaccine to staff and students as a convenient alternative to visiting healthcare facilities. SAS was the first full boarding school involved in the vaccination program and it received full cooperation from the Parents and Teachers Association (PTA) of the school.

As many as 11 staff members including four vaccinators from Avisena Women’s & Children’s Specialist Hospital as well as PTA representatives have collectively made the program a success today.

Besides boarding schools, Avisena Healthcare is also aiming to bring such programs to corporate companies in clusters around Klang Valley.
