Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Abd Aziz
Mohd Yusof

Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Abdul Aziz Mohd Yusof is our Independent Non-Executive Chairman. He was appointed to our Board on 5 January 2017. He had served as the State Secretary for the State of Selangor and Malacca and was also Chief Secretary of the Ministry of Internal Security and the Ministry of Home Affairs.

Upon his official retirement from civil service, he was appointed as the Chairman of the Election Commission of Malaysia from 31 December 2008 until 24 January 2016.

Dato’ Dr Omar
Abd Hamid

Dato’ Dr Omar Abd Hamid has a long, diverse and successful experience in the medical field. Through his leadership, Avisena Healthcare has emerged as the leading healthcare brand that assures personalised service in a personalised setup.

For this, he was awarded the prestigious “Entrepreneur Award in Service Sector” by the Ministry of Entrepreneur Development.

Dato Dr Omar holds a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBBS) from UM, a Post-Graduate Diploma in Hospital Administration (PGDHHSA) from the University of South Bank, UK and an MBA from the University of Ballarat, Australia. He has also undergone intensive Management Training in Mayo Medical Centre, Rochester, Minnesota, USA. Additionally, he was appointed as an independent and non-executive director at UEM Edgenta Berhad, a leading provider of asset management and infrastructure solutions for various sectors.

Elina Nadia
Omar

A graduate in Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting & Finance) from Deakin University, Melbourne, Elina started her career as a Management Trainee with HSBC Amanah Malaysia in 2010, spending her first year managing the Business Banking clients encompassing SMEs from various industries.

For the major part of her career in HSBC, she was responsible for co-managing relationships and banking facilities for Corporate Banking clients involving public-listed companies, GLCs, state-owned companies, as well as large local and international corporate groups.

Elina has recently completed the Leadership in Medicine: Southeast Asia Program designed for emerging healthcare leaders by Harvard Medical School. She currently oversees business developments and expansion of the Avisena Specialist Hospital as well as the Avisena Renal Care.

Puan Sri Siti Rahmah
Abd Hamid

Puan Sri Siti Rahmah Abd Hamid is our Non-Independent Non-Executive Director. Her appointment to our Board was on 6 April 2007.

Nur Azlina
Dato’ Johari

Nur Azlina Dato’ Johari was appointed to the Board on 28 June 2004 as a Non-Independent Non-Executive Director. She completed her Bachelor of Arts in Business Studies and Information Technology from the University of Sheffield.

Nur Azlina started her career in 2002 as a Business Development Officer specifically in property development and management before moving on to play critical roles in strategic planning at Johawaki Group.

Besides being a Chief Transformation Officer, she also holds various directorships in Johawaki Group.

Mohamad Akmal
Dato’ Johari

Mohamad Akmal completed a degree in Accounting and Finance from Regent’s Business School (United Kingdom) in 2008 and had earlier education at Royal Military College (RMC) in 1999.

He began his career at Prokhas, a Ministry of Finance Incorporated company, prior to joining Johawaki Group as a Director of the Plantation division. In 2015, he was appointed as a Director of Johawaki Development Sdn Bhd, a real estate company with a track record of successful projects. In 2018, he played an instrumental role in securing a partnership with Marriott International Group to develop the first Fairfield Hotel in Kuala Lumpur. Mohamad Akmal was also involved in the construction of Avisena Healthcare’s hospitals in Shah Alam.

Johawaki Holdings Sdn Bhd, the parent company of the Group, has appointed Mohamad Akmal as a Group Deputy CEO (Finance) since 2016 to oversee the group’s network of businesses.

Datuk Fazlur Rahman
KMM Ebrahim

Datuk Fazlur Rahman KMM Ebrahim is our Independent Non-Executive Director. He was appointed to our Board on 29 September 2016. He graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration from Ohio University, United States of America in 1980.

Datuk Fazlur has 20 years of experience in banking, having served in Bank Bumiputra Malaysia Bhd in various capacities including managing the Kuala Lumpur main branch and heading the corporate banking division. He then became General Manager at Pengurusan Danaharta Nasional from 1999 to 2002. In 2003, he was appointed as Chief Executive Officer of Bank Muamalat Malaysia Bhd.

In 2005, he joined Bank Islam Malaysia Bhd as Chief Operating Officer and in 2006, he joined Prokhas Sdn Bhd as Managing Director until his retirement in 2012.

Datuk Dr Hj Rohaizat
Hj Yon

Datuk Dr Hj Rohaizat Hj Yon is our Independent Non-Executive Director effective 1 January 2021. A medical doctor by profession, he is also a Public Health Specialist with a subspecialty in health management, health economics and financing.

He obtained a Master’s Degree in Health Planning and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Public Health majoring in Health Financing, Health Economics and Casemix.

Datuk Dr Hj Rohaizat has been with the Ministry of Health for over 35 years, and his last position was as the Deputy Director-General of Health (Medical).

He has extensive experience in various MOH positions in hospital and health services planning and management. He is also a member of various professional associations at national and international levels.

Musa
Abdul Malek

Musa Abdul Malek was appointed to the Board on 1 February 2023 as an Independent Non-Executive Director.

He has 37 years of experience working in banking, starting his career at HSBC Group in 1979. During his 31 years at HSBC, he held various management positions in departments such as Credit, Debt Origination, Corporate Relationship, Islamic Banking, and Business Development.

Musa served as a Deputy Managing Director of HSBC Amanah Malaysia before becoming an Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer. He then joined Bank Muamalat Malaysia Berhad in 2010 as Deputy Chief Executive Officer, responsible for managing business functions and assisting the CEO with operational matters.

He was later the Managing Director at CIMB Islamic Bank Berhad, overseeing the Islamic banking business in CIMB Niaga, Indonesia, and as the Group Head of Islamic Banking, Consumer Banking.

Musa was appointed as an Independent Non-Executive Director of Bank Pembangunan Malaysia Berhad in 2017 before retiring in February 2019. He has been serving as an independent non-executive director of Affin Islamic Bank since Aug 1, 2019. In June 2022, he was appointed as the new chairman of Affin Islamic Bank Bhd. Encik Musa holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (Honours) from the University of Ohio/Institute Technology of Mara, Malaysia.
