Avisena Specialist Hospital and Avisena Women’s & Children’s Specialist Hospital have received the Diamond Recognition Awards in the Low Carbon Partner Category at the Low Carbon City Award Ceremony 2021 held at Hotel EQ, Equatorial Plaza, Jalan Sultan Ismail, Kuala Lumpur.

The awards were presented by His Excellency Dato’ Sri Tuan Ibrahim bin Tuan Man, Minister of Environment and Water.

Both hospitals were among 30 partners who have received the award at yesterday’s ceremony. Also present in the ceremony was the Chief Executive Officer of MGTC, Ts. Shamsul Bahar Mohd Nor. Avisena Specialist Hospital was represented by Mr. Mohd Rodzi Husin and Avisena Women’s & Children’s Specialist Hospital was represented by Mr. Mohd Riduan Abdul Hamid.

Avisena Specialist Hospital reportedly reduced greenhouse gas emission rates by 12.9% (503.89 tCO2e) since 2015 while Avisena Women’s & Children’s Specialist Hospital successfully achieved a rate of 16.46% (824.88 tCO2e) since 2019. Both hospitals demonstrated efficient management of electricity and water resources to go beyond targets.
