Avisena Healthcare officially launched its renal care arm, Avisena Renal Care, at an event officiated by Duli Yang Maha Mulia Tengku Permaisuri Selangor Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin, alongside Tan Sri Dato Seri Abd Aziz (Avisena Group’s Independent Non-Executive Chairman) and Dr Rashidi Saidin (Avisena Renal Care’s Executive Director) in Shah Alam today.

Avisena Renal Care has raised the bar in renal care in the country with its holistic services which include haemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis treatments, pre-dialysis treatment counselling, dietetic services, arteriovenous fistula care and pre-transplant work-up (through a collaboration with Hospital Universiti Teknologi MARA). Avisena Renal Care is the first stand-alone dialysis centre approved by Cawangan Kawalan Akta Perubatan Swasta (CKAPS) Putrajaya as a peritoneal dialysis service provider.

Avisena Renal Care hosted a forum-themed “Sustainability of Dialysis Treatment in Malaysia” at the launch event with panellists Datuk Dr. Hj. Rohaizat Hj. Yon (Ex-Deputy Director-General of Health (Medical) MOH/Independent Director of Avisena Healthcare), Dr. Sunita Bavanandan (Head of Department of Nephrology, Hospital Kuala Lumpur and Past President of the Malaysian Society of Nephrology), Dr. Rafidah Abdullah (Consultant Nephrologist, Hospital Putrajaya and Social Activist) and Dr. Vicknesh Krishnan (Medical Director of Fresenius Medical Care).

As part of a CSR initiative, Avisena Renal Care sponsored two Tenckhoff PD catheters worth a total of RM20,000 to patients aged 17 and 70 years old with newly diagnosed end stage kidney disease. The sponsorship was handed to the recipients at a special ceremony by Duli Yang Maha Mulia Tengku Permaisuri Selangor Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin, held as part of the event’s programme.
