Avisena Healthcare was awarded at the National Award Ceremony for LCCF Challenge 2030 on February 20th, 2023, after achieving a 3 Diamonds rating for both of its hospitals in 2022.

The awards were presented by His Excellency Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad, Minister of Natural Resources, Environment and Climate Change.

For many years, people around the world have been concerned about climate change and how to address it. Malaysia is doing its part to reduce greenhouse gases by implementing the Low Carbon Cities Framework Challenge 2030, an initiative by the Malaysian Green Technology and Climate Change Centre (MGTC) under the Ministry of Environment and Water (KASA) to transition cities to a low-carbon future. Avisena Healthcare has been participating in this initiative since 2019 as a strategic partner of MBSA (Majlis Bandaraya Shah Alam). 

 To further reduce their carbon footprint, Avisena Healthcare has been implementing several initiatives, such as deploying energy-efficient chillers that will be completed in mid-2023 and help to reduce emissions by 30%. The ultimate goal is to decrease the country’s energy usage by 45% by 2030. By living sustainably today, we can support future generations.
