SHAH ALAM: A total of 250 food delivery riders around the Klang Valley, particularly in Shah Alam, received breaking fast meals through a Ramadan corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative organised by Avisena Specialist Hospital last Friday.
The programme, themed “Iftar On The Go,” allowed riders to briefly stop by to collect food packs and festive cookies for their iftar before continuing their duties delivering orders to customers.

The initiative was organised as a gesture of appreciation for food delivery riders who remain committed to carrying out their responsibilities in the field, especially during the fasting month of Ramadan.
Chief Executive Officer of Avisena Specialist Hospital, Dr Razman Abd Karim, said the programme reflects the spirit of giving that lies at the heart of Ramadan.

“Ramadan reminds us of the importance of sharing our blessings and supporting those around us. Although this contribution may be small, it represents an initiative from Avisena to show appreciation to food delivery riders who continue working hard, even during the time to break their fast.
“We hope this effort can provide them with a little convenience to enjoy their iftar more easily while they are still on duty,” he said.

Dr Razman added that initiatives such as this reflect the hospital’s commitment to strengthening its relationship with the surrounding community.
“As a healthcare institution, our role goes beyond treating patients. We also aim to engage with the community and extend our care to those around us.
“Efforts like this are important in building closer relationships with the community while recognising those who support the daily needs of society, including individuals involved in food delivery services,” he said.

The programme was also attended by Group Chief Executive Officer of Avisena Healthcare, Puan Elina Nadia Omar, Chief Executive Officer of Avisena Women’s & Children’s Specialist Hospital, Puan Fauziana Ahmad Jawawi, as well as members of the management team and hospital staff, who were present on the ground to distribute food packs to the riders.
