SHAH ALAM: More than 1,000 participants gathered at Taman Botani Negara, Shah Alam, on 26 October 2025 to join the Avisena Pink Fun Run 2025, an annual event organised by Avisena Healthcare in conjunction with Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
With the theme “Miles of Courage”, the event celebrated community spirit while showing support for patients and individuals at risk of breast cancer through a five (5) kilometre fun run, while also raising awareness on the importance of early detection and healthy lifestyle practices.
Avisena Healthcare’s Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO), Puan Elina Nadia Omar, stated that this annual initiative reflects Avisena’s continued commitment to educating the public on women’s health and the importance of early detection.

“Avisena Pink Fun Run 2025 is not just a leisure event, but a campaign that reminds us that early detection of breast cancer can save lives. Through small steps like this, we are collectively building a healthier and more resilient community,” said Elina.
Throughout the programme, various educational and health activities were conducted, including free breast self-examination sessions by the Breast Cancer Welfare Association (BCWA), interactive sessions on early detection and women’s health care, as well as engaging activities that drew the attention of both participants and visitors.

“We want every participant to take home not just the running experience, but also a deeper awareness of the importance of maintaining personal health and undergoing regular check-ups.
Breast cancer is not something that can be ignored – it requires knowledge, early action, and continuous support,” she added.

Elina also emphasised that strengthening public awareness goes hand-in-hand with Avisena Healthcare’s long-term development strategy, including the construction of the new wing of Avisena Specialist Hospital Shah Alam, expected to be completed by 2027.
“This new facility will feature Shah Alam’s first comprehensive Oncology Centre equipped with chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and advanced surgical treatment facilities.
It is also part of our vision to strengthen medical tourism, positioning Shah Alam as an international healthcare destination,” explained Elina.

This initiative signifies Avisena Healthcare’s determination to expand access to high-quality medical services for local patients while enhancing the standards of health tourism, in line with the growing number of patients across the Klang Valley and surrounding regions.
“This is the spirit we channel through the Avisena Pink Fun Run 2025 – uniting the community in solidarity, empathy, and courage to champion women’s health.
We believe that women’s health awareness does not start in hospitals alone, but within the community itself,” Elina concluded.

Also present at the event were members of Avisena Healthcare’s senior management, along with strategic partners committed to strengthening public awareness on breast cancer and women’s well-being.
